Celtic Bonds, Global Kin

Today marks a proud beginning — the launch of The Deary Society website.
A home for everyone who shares a connection to the Deary name — whether by birth, marriage, or simply by curiosity about where the story began.

A Family United Across the World

The Deary name has travelled far. From its Celtic roots to every corner of the globe, generations of Dearys and their descendants have carried it into new lands, new lives, and new stories. Yet, despite distance and time, those shared roots remain.

The Deary Society exists to bring those roots together again — to unite individuals and families who share the name or its variations, and to celebrate the heritage, history, and kinship that connect us all.

Our Purpose and Spirit

The Society was founded to do more than preserve history — it was created to keep our family story alive.
We aim to:

  • Research and record the origins and migrations of the Deary family.
  • Connect relatives and descendants across countries and generations.
  • Organise gatherings, projects, and publications that strengthen our shared identity.
  • Foster friendship, remembrance, and pride in our heritage.

In short, The Deary Society exists so that no Deary — past, present, or future — stands alone.

Our Motto

“Celtic Bonds, Global Kin.”
A reminder that while our roots are Celtic, our branches span the world.

Together, we’ll keep the Deary legacy alive — with pride, with friendship, and with kinship that knows no borders.
